If you have been thinking about taking your family to a Great Wolf Lodge – stop thinking and BOOK NOW! I was skeptical for a while because I thought it was super expensive and I was worried that it would be chaos and unsafe.
I was wrong on all points.
Here are my top 5 reasons why you should book a vacation to a Great Wolf Lodge:
1. Safety was a priority
I was so impressed with the lifeguards to each person that worked there and was making sure that kids were safe (not only with making sure they didn’t drown but that they knew where their parents were). I really felt that I was able to relax which says a lot because I am always a bundle of nerves with 3 kids around water!
2. Customer Service – impeccable – much like Disney
Everyone that worked there was just so happy and willing to help with whatever you need!
3. Great short trip for the family – 2 days is all you need
My kids were so tired after playing for those 2 days. I am not sure they would have made it much longer. Plus we had already done everything there was to do!
4. Something for the entire family
Our kids are spread out in ages but my husband and I had fun going down rides that even the kids couldn’t ride yet. Our littles were just fine hanging out at the splash pad and the outdoor pool. My oldest just wanted to ride all the rides for her height over and over again!
5. Money well spent!
Our total cost was $433. We took 7 people so this equated to about $62 a person for 2 days at a water park and 1 overnight in a “hotel”.   Everyone had fun and it didn’t break the bank. I would consider that money well spent! HINT – if you go in October it is supposedly even cheaper!!!!
Here are some tips I would give you for when you book:
1. Only stay 1 night.
You can checkin to the waterpark at 1pm and play until your room is ready. When you checkout in the morning, you can play until the waterpark closes that night.
2. Bring a sweater
It is COLD inside everywhere but the waterpark. I would suggest a light sweater or jacket for you and the kids.
3. Bring your own food – at least for breakfast
There is a microwave and fridge in the room so we brought dinner already made and reheated it in the microwave. There is a Dunkin Donuts in the lodge but it was crazy packed in the morning. A simple breakfast you can eat in the room is ideal! We then packed sandwiches and snacks to have during the day. Bring water bottles too so that you don’t have to pay for drinks!
4. Early Morning – Quiet everywhere
Lobby is super quiet before 745am. If you need to have quiet time, great place to go.
5. Take advantage of the Kids Yoga in the morning
The waterpark didn’t open until 9am so we needed something to keep my kids occupied until then! They had fun doing the yoga at 8:15am. When it was done, we had just the right amount of time to go back to our room and change into our bathing suits.
5. Attend the shows at night
There was nothing super special about the shows but it was enough to give our kids something to look forward to! It was nice to already have pjs on and go and enjoy sitting and listening. Great way to end the evening!
